My name is Susan Rigetti. Welcome to my Substack!

I write things for the page and screen. Before I was a full-time writer, I was an editor at The New York Times, the founding editor in chief of Stripe’s Increment Magazine, a software engineer, and a whole bunch of other things.

(PS: My portrait is by Mercedes Bazan, who is ridiculously brilliant and talented and who you should follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mechibaz)

This newsletter isn’t about any one particular thing but rather about a bunch of things. I started it so I could have a place to talk about and share a wide range of things I care about (including books, movies, writing, screenwriting, physics, philosophy, math — to name a few!).

I try to post as often as possible, and make most things available for free and paid subscribers. Paid subscribers also get some extra stuff, like access to the full archive, Q&As, the ability to comment, and some other fun stuff I’ll be launching as I get to it.

I hope you find my writing interesting, and if there’s anything you’d especially like to hear from me about, let me know on Twitter or in the comments!

(Please note: some links in issues of this newsletter may contain Amazon or Bookshop referral codes that generate small commissions — usually around a few cents — if you buy the books. These commissions help me cover hosting expenses for susanjfowler.com and susanrigetti.com.)
